Profile

Rachel Gonzales is an associate in Foulston’s litigation and employment practice group. Based in the firm’s Kansas City office, Rachel brings experience serving as outside general counsel for clients, has successfully tried multiple cases for a municipality, and represented both public and private clients in a wide range of court proceedings. She has also been involved in the resolution and trial of complex commercial and private disputes.

Rachel counsels clients in a variety of industries, handling cases related to employment, business, real estate, consumer protection defense, commercial regulations, and probate. She works at both the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts. Her experience also includes family law and representing parents as court-appointed counsel for Child In Need of Care cases in more than 100 hearings.

Rachel earned her Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law, where she graduated with dean’s honors and served as a staff writer for the Washburn Law Journal. She was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and was elected president of the Washburn chapter of the Federal Bar Association. During law school, she also interned at Washburn’s Litigation Clinic, focusing on family justice and immigration. Rachel is a graduate of the University of Kansas, with a Bachelor of Science in journalism.

Rachel is originally from northern Colorado and is a nature lover. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, exploring national parks, reading, and spending time with her fiancé. She’s the oldest of her siblings and the oldest of 14 cousins.
