Scott C. Palecki

1971–2026

It is with sorrow that Foulston Siefkin LLP recognizes the untimely passing of our friend and partner, Scott C. Palecki, on Feb. 16, 2026. One of the guiding lights of the firm’s healthcare practice and the practice group chair for many years, Scott’s career focused on counseling healthcare providers in both healthcare-specific and business matters. In his three decades of practice, he developed long-standing relationships with clients by providing strategic approaches to solving their problems and reaching their desired outcomes. During a five-year departure from the firm, Scott served as general counsel for a national ambulatory surgery center and surgical hospital development and management company, including guiding the company through the COVID pandemic, before returning to Foulston. He deeply enjoyed mentoring the firm’s healthcare attorneys and seeing them grow into legal leaders in their own right.

Scott earned his Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law after graduating from Washburn University. He is a past president of the Kansas Association of Hospital Attorneys and taught health law for several years as an adjunct professor at Washburn University School of Law. Scott’s healthcare work has been recognized by Best Lawyers® as the 2016 and 2025 Kansas City, Kansas, Health Care Law “Lawyer of the Year” and the 2013 Wichita Health Care Law “Lawyer of the Year” and he was selected by peers for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America® for Health Care Law 2009-2018 and 2025-2026.

Scott is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kristin, was a proud father of sons Joshua, Jack, Zachary, Samuel, and Thomas, and grandfather to his two grandsons. We will miss Scott’s example of excellence and his energetic commitment to the practice of law as well as his mentorship, loyalty, and friendship.
