Foulston Siefkin LLP Elects Five New Partners

Foulston Siefkin LLP is pleased to announce five attorneys have been elected to partnership. The firm’s new partners are Trent Byquist, David Green, Clayton Kaiser, Wes Kimmel, and Amanda Wilwert.
Trent Byquist, of the firm’s Wichita’s office, represents business clients in transactional matters, including contract negotiation and preparation, mergers and acquisitions, securities, financing, franchising and distribution, and general corporate matters. He also counsels financial institutions on a wide range of matters, including complex credit transactions and regulatory matters at the state and federal level. Byquist is a Young Lawyers Delegate for the Kansas Bar Association, and he has been selected by peers for inclusion in the 2021 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in the areas of Banking and Finance Law and Corporate Law. He received his J.D. as member of the Order of the Coif from the University of Kansas School of Law and his B.S. summa cum laude from Kansas State University.
David Green, of the firm’s Kansas City office, practices construction law and commercial litigation. His practice focuses on drafting and negotiating design and construction contracts, advising clients on construction claims, and representing clients in construction and commercial disputes. He serves clients across the construction and real estate development industries, including general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, design professionals, and property owners and developers. Green has been selected by peers for inclusion in the 2021 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in the area of Construction Law, and he is an alumnus of Leadership Overland Park’s 2017 class. He received his J.D. as a member of the Order of the Coif from the University of Kansas School of Law and his B.S. in Architectural Engineering from the University of Kansas.
Clayton Kaiser, of the firm’s Wichita office, counsels clients on matters involving enforcement of employment agreements, contract disputes, corporate reorganizations, and tort actions; he frequently works with healthcare providers. Additionally, he routinely advises clients through federal, state, and private insurance investigations and audits. Kaiser is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and has been selected by peers for inclusion in the 2021 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Criminal Defense: White-Collar, and Health Care Law. He received his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School as a member of the Order of the Coif, and his B.A. summa cum laude from Benedictine College.
Wes Kimmel, of the firm’s Wichita office, focuses his practice in the areas of environmental law and commercial real estate. He assists clients in matters involving real estate sales, acquisitions, and development; wind energy project development; commercial leasing; environmental diligence activities; and environmental regulatory issues. Kimmel is a member and past co-chair of the Wichita Bar Association’s Real Estate Practice Committee and a member of the Wichita Business Journal’s 2019 Emerging Leaders class. He received his J.D. with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law and his B.A. with honors from the University of Kansas.
Amanda Wilwert, of the firm’s Kansas City office, advises a broad range of healthcare clients in a variety of transactional and business issues, including administrative and regulatory requirements, compliance, risk management, licensure, and Medicare Conditions of Participation and Conditions for Coverage. She assists providers with HIPAA compliance and enforcement, negotiates managed care and other payor contracts, and litigates a variety of cases in the areas of hospital and physician regulation, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, and professional licensure. Wilwert currently serves as president of the Greater Kansas City Society of Healthcare Attorneys and has been selected by peers for inclusion in the 2021 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in the area of Health Care Law. Wilwert received her J.D. cum laude from Washburn University School of Law and her B.A. from Drake University.
