Profile

Nicholas Kaechele (pronounced KEK-lee), an attorney in Foulston’s litigation practice group, is based in the firm’s Wichita office. He works with clients to resolve disputes and handles litigation related to a broad range of matters, with a particular interest in the closely related areas of natural resources, water, oil and gas, and real estate law.

Nick’s time as a law clerk for Chief Judge Eric F. Melgren in the District Court for the District of Kansas has given him first-hand experience in the justice system. There, he drafted court orders and wrote reports on matters related to alleged breach of contract, trade secret violations, labor and employment and other matters. Nick enjoys researching the facts and laws to develop an effective litigation strategy, then implementing that strategy to reach the client’s goals.

Before graduating from Washburn University School of Law, Nick was a junior staff writer and served on the Board of Editors for the Washburn Law Journal. He was selected for the Wooley Distinguished Scholarship, which is awarded to one outstanding student in a class. As an undergraduate at Kansas State University, where he earned a double Bachelor of Science in both philosophy and political science with a pre-law emphasis, Nick interned at a Manhattan law firm and with then-Kansas State Senate majority leader Jim Denning to write reports, attend hearings, and interpret legislation.

Nick enjoys gardening, hanging out with friends and family, writing, outdoor activities, and anything water related.
