Profile

Sam Walenz is an associate with Foulston’s commercial litigation and healthcare practice groups in the firm’s Wichita office. In his law practice, Sam represents clients in commercial disputes before state and federal courts and provides advice on regulatory compliance to a variety of healthcare providers. Before returning to his native Kansas, Sam was an associate attorney with a prominent law firm in Tallahassee, Florida, and a law clerk for the Honorable Robert L. Hinkle of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida, where he gained valuable insight into practice before federal courts.

Before law school, Sam attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and received his commission as an Armor Officer in the United States Army. His service included two combat deployments to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with the 10th Mountain Division, where he led combat patrols and advised senior officers in the Afghan National Security Forces.

Having spent more than 15 years away from home, Sam is happy to be back in Kansas and closer to family. A former Hutchinson Salthawk, Sam was a KSHSAA 6A Boys State Golf Champion and served as the captain of West Point’s golf team for two years. Outside the office, Sam enjoys spending his free time with his family and cheering on the Army West Point football team.
