August 12, 2025

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Foulston Siefkin LLP partners Tara Eberline and Daniel Buller were recently selected for service on federal and state judiciary committees.

Foulston Kansas City partner-in-charge Tara Eberline has been appointed to chair a merit selection panel which will recommend five applicants to become a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court, District of Kansas. Tara will chair the 10-member panel comprising eight lawyers and two non-lawyers, and panel members will make their recommendations to the District Court in November for a swearing-in on or after February 1, 2026.

Earlier this year, the Kansas Supreme Court created a 21-member Ad Hoc Artificial Intelligence Committee by administrative order. Foulston partner Daniel Buller was appointed to serve on the committee – the only member of the group in private practice. Committee members will study both internal policies for the judicial system and external policies to ensure that AI use involving Kansas courts is governed consistently.

Tara Eberline has been an employment and labor attorney for nearly 20 years. She was named partner-in-charge of the Kansas City office in 2023 – the same year in which she was elected one of the five members of the firm’s governing executive committee.
